Dr. Luis Braz-Ruivo is a native of Portugal where he obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Lisbon, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. In the early 90’s he moved to Canada and completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Guelph. He then went on to complete a three year residency training program in Cardiology, also at the University of Guelph. In 1996, he became board certified by the American College of Internal Medicine in the sub-specialty of Cardiology.  After practicing cardiology for two years in Massachusetts, Dr. Braz-Ruivo moved to Maryland and opened a very successful multi-specialty referral hospital and emergency center in 2003. In 2016 he sold his share of the referral hospital and moved to Texas where he currently lives. After a well-deserved vacation he is now providing a mobile cardiology consulting service in Texas.
